A Little Info On Bay Leaf! Did You Know?

Did you know that bay, or laurel, has been used since ancient Greece as trophy for heroes and poets? Today, it is primarily used to flavor foods, as in bouquets garnis, and it is used by chefs of ethnic cuisines, from Italian to Thai. It is also frequently used in salt-free seasonings. The bay leaf gives an aromatic and astringent flavor that is woody and slightly minty.Bay leaf is thought to be useful for gastric ulcers, high blood sugar, migraines, and infections.


Side Effects
Dermatitis, hand and face eczema, obstructed breathing, occupational asthma, and perforations or obstructions in the gastrointestinal tract.
Reactions / Interactions
ACE inhibitor drugs, anticonvulsive drugs, sedatives and herbs and supplements with similar effects.
