Also  S. boulardii has been shown to be safe in infants and children. In a clinical trial intended to evaluate the efficacy and safety of S. boulardii for the prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhea in infants and children, 250 mg was administered orally twice daily in 269 children aged 6 months to 14 years.
