Cashews, Jam-Packed With Nutrients, Did you know?

Did you know that cashews have 5 grams of protein per ounce and high levels of the essential minerals iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, copper and manganese, all of which are necessary for a healthy body?
That's not all. Cashews have a lower fat content than most other nuts, approximately 75% of that fat is unsaturated fatty acids, with 75% of this unsaturated fatty acid content being oleic acid, the same heart-healthy monounsaturated fat found in olive oil. Studies show that oleic acid promotes good cardiovascular health, even in individuals with diabetes. To lower your risk of cardiovascular and coronary heart disease, enjoy a handful of cashews or other nuts, or a tablespoon of nut butter, at least 4 times a week.
A quarter-cup of cashews supplies you with 38% of the daily value for copper. An essential component of many enzymes, copper plays a role in a wide range of physiological processes including iron utilization, elimination of free radicals, development of bone and connective tissue, and the production of the skin and hair pigment called melanin.
People who eat nuts on a daily basis are less likely to gain weight and have a tendency to be thinner, on average, than those who don't. It may be that eating nuts like cashews is so filling that it reduces overall calorie consumption.

God Bless And Have A Smooth Monday!
